Overview
This article describes how to access the emergency recovery UI and recover a Cloud Key. From this UI you can reset it to factory defaults, reboot, shutoff and upgrade the firmware. To upgrade the firmware you will need a firmware binary for the UniFi Cloud Key.
UniFi Cloud Key emergency recovery overview and steps
For system image recovery, we have a rescue image built in. In the case something bad happens during system image update, you can enter the rescue UI via the following steps:
- Power off the system
- Press and hold the reset button and then power on system
- Keep reset button pressed for about 10 seconds, or until you see the rescue LED pattern (off->white->blue, looping)
- Then you can access the rescue web UI. The IP address comes from your DHCP server or you can access it at the fallback IP of 192.168.1.30.
- From the rescue web UI you can reset the unit to defaults, reboot/power off, or directly load a firmware file to recover the CloudKey.
If you wish to load a firmware file you first need to download it. Find the latest public releases HERE.
